To start off this offers extra firm massage to the sides of your neck. I have fibromyalgia and I was sure this would hurt me so I had my husband try it.
The handles on this a long so so it really makes using it easy for anyone. As you stretch the handles outward, the massage knobs will roll back and fourth across the sides of your neck. After about 3 rotations, by husband said it was a little to firm for him on his neck, but after about 15 minutes after using it, he said the tension in his neck was gone. So in turn it does work well, I assume after you use it a few times you would get use to the firm massage it provided. This is a very affordable option that works and my husband recommends it. I was sent this for review purposes.
